After the Civil War, the foundry industry gravitated towards stove casting. The Labor & Industry Museum of Belleville presents 26 stoves dating from 1881 to 1940, including a wide range of heating and cooking styles - all made in Belleville. The production figures and the wealth generated from the stove foundry industry has given Belleville the moniker, "Stove Capital of the World". Belleville continues to produce high-quality stoves and heating products for today's market. That industry continues today because of the quality of workmanship available in today's labor market. It is believed that industrialists of Belleville enameled the first stove in America and came up with the idea of the "Jacketed Stove".

Roesch, Inc. was founded in 1916 as a porcelain enamel contract manufacturer. At that time, Belleville was the site of about 50 stove foundries and Roesch was a supplier to many of them. During the 1920's, Roesch manufactured coal and gas residential cooking ranges. Metal fabrication was added during the 1940's. This addition allowed Roesch to further expand as a custom job shop to the HVAC and major cooking appliance manufacturers. In 1970’s, in order to offset the seasonal impact of the products and services being offered, a new division was opened to offer ice related products.

Today, the company has been divided into three divisions:

Fabrication: Metal stampings, welding, and assembly
Porcelain enamel – Robotic line, Powder, electrophoresis, silk screening
Ice Maid – Ice Merchandisers and related ice equipment and supplies.

Roesch, Inc. is a contract manufacturer specializing in products like commercial and residential cooking equipment (oven liners, broiler pans, cook tops, pan supports, control panels, pull handles, cooktops, stove grates, burner caps, trim vents, oven cavities and many more), commercial and residential heating equipment (heat exchangers, burners, control panels, fireplace, division panels, and numerous replacement parts), barbeque (wire grills; cast iron, drawn wire and fabricated steel grills), ice related products (ice merchandisers, ice bags).
