Enamel Plant Tour

The pickling process is primarily used for steel parts.  Cast iron parts must be prepared in a different manner prior to being coated.  Raw cast iron parts are blasted with grit to remove material, such as surface oxidation, that may cause problems during the enameling process.   This process also roughens the material, helping the enamel bond to the part more effectively.
